Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Australian Right Wing (From The Series Cloud) by Michael Riley was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2009, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 3,120.00 (€ 1,834.31). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Riley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Boomerang) From The Series Cloud, which sold at auction in July 2009 for AUD 12,000.00 (€ 6,793.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Australian Right Wing (From The Series Cloud) von Michael Riley im August 2009 bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 3.120,00 (€ 1.834,31) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Riley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Boomerang) From The Series Cloud beobachtet, die im Juli 2009 für AUD 12.000,00 (€ 6.793,94) versteigert wurde.
