Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Australian Angel Profile (From The Series Cloud) by Michael Riley for AUD 3,360.00 (€ 1,975.41). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art at Sothebys in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Riley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Boomerang) From The Series Cloud, which sold at auction in July 2009 for AUD 12,000.00 (€ 6,793.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Australian Angel Profile (From The Series Cloud) von Michael Riley für AUD 3.360,00 (€ 1.975,41) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Riley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Boomerang) From The Series Cloud beobachtet, die im Juli 2009 für AUD 12.000,00 (€ 6.793,94) versteigert wurde.
