Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Strawberry Cough by Michael Manning was auctioned at Phillips in 7 - in December this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 254.00 (€ 229.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Manning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Little Lies in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,921.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Strawberry Cough von Michael Manning im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 7 - versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 254,00 (€ 229,61) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Manning erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Little Lies im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 31.921,39).
