Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mermaid 1, Amagansett by Michael Dweck was auctioned at Phillips in London in October 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,998.21). Admittedly, works by Michael Dweck have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sonya, Poles (Montauk) in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 168,750.00 (€ 148,914.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mermaid 1, Amagansett von Michael Dweck im Oktober 2019 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 28.998,21) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Dweck auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sonya, Poles (Montauk) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 168.750,00 (€ 148.914,58).
