Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mermaid 6B Miami, Florida by Michael Dweck was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,737.50 (€ 5,197.01). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Dweck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sonya, Poles (Montauk) in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 168,750.00 (€ 148,914.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mermaid 6B Miami, Florida von Michael Dweck im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.737,50 (€ 5.197,01) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Dweck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sonya, Poles (Montauk) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 168.750,00 (€ 148.914,58).
