Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coastal Bay, Sark by Mervyn Peake was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2005. The price achieved of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,543.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mervyn Peake have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The red room in April 2019 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,995.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Coastal Bay, Sark von Mervyn Peake kam im Mai 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.543,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mervyn Peake auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The red room im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.995,22).
