Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A gentleman in a hat; three studies by Mervyn Peake was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2006. The price achieved of GBP 720.00 (€ 1,068.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mervyn Peake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The red room in April 2019 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,995.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A gentleman in a hat; three studies von Mervyn Peake kam im Dezember 2006 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.068,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mervyn Peake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The red room im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.995,22).
