Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Two Figures by Mervyn Peake for GBP 562.50 (€ 764.34). This price was achieved in the auction Twentieth Century British Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mervyn Peake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The red room in April 2019 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,995.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Two Figures von Mervyn Peake für GBP 562,50 (€ 764,34) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Twentieth Century British Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mervyn Peake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The red room im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.995,22).
