The result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,908.24) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mernet Larsen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cardplayers, which sold at auction in June 2019 for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 70,259.27).

Die Arbeit Holding Back von Mernet Larsen wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 26.908,24) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Mernet Larsen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cardplayers beobachtet, die im Juni 2019 für GBP 62.500,00 (€ 70.259,27) versteigert wurde.
