Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Warehouse At Dusk by Merlyn Evans was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2020. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,930.00 (€ 7,736.22), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Merlyn Evans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Time King (Vertical Abstraction No. 2) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 33,750.00 (€ 39,630.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Warehouse At Dusk von Merlyn Evans wurde im November 2020 in der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.930,00 (€ 7.736,22) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Merlyn Evans auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Time King (Vertical Abstraction No. 2) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 33.750,00 (€ 39.630,75).
