This artwork by Merlyn Evans achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2019. In the Modern | British Art auction, the work Two Figures sold for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,274.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Merlyn Evans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Time King (Vertical Abstraction No. 2), which sold at auction in November 2019 for GBP 33,750.00 (€ 39,630.75).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Merlyn Evans erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern | British Art wurde die Arbeit Two Figures für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.274,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Merlyn Evans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Time King (Vertical Abstraction No. 2) beobachtet, die im November 2019 für GBP 33.750,00 (€ 39.630,75) versteigert wurde.
