Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Merlyn Evans could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Distressed Area changed hands for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 30,174.64) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Other works by Merlyn Evans have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2019 by the work Time King (Vertical Abstraction No. 2) at GBP 33,750.00 (€ 39,630.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Merlyn Evans konnte im Juli 2008 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Distressed Area für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 30.174,64) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Merlyn Evans wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im November 2019 die Arbeit Time King (Vertical Abstraction No. 2) mit GBP 33.750,00 (€ 39.630,75).
