Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Merlyn Evans could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Distressed Area changed hands for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 30,174.64) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Other works by Merlyn Evans have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2019 by the work Time King (Vertical Abstraction No. 2) at GBP 33,750.00 (€ 39,630.75).
