Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern Discoveries, which included the work Untitled (Sheep's Head) by Menashe Kadishman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,016.00 (€ 1,817.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Menashe Kadishman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Birds. in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 70,950.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern Discoveries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Sheep's Head) von Menashe Kadishman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.016,00 (€ 1.817,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Menashe Kadishman erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Birds. im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 70.950,00.
