Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2016 Christies in Mumbai held the auction The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Revolt by Meera Mukherjee. The price achieved of INR 4,375,000.00 (€ 60,948.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as INR 3,500,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Meera Mukherjee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Mango Orchard), which sold at auction in March last year for USD 226,800.00 (€ 204,453.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Christies in Mumbai die Auktion The India Sale - South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Revolt von Meera Mukherjee zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von INR 4.375.000,00 (€ 60.948,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit INR 3.500.000,00 – 5.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Meera Mukherjee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Mango Orchard) beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 226.800,00 (€ 204.453,26) versteigert wurde.
