Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2007 Christies in London held the auction Turin London Corfu The Collection of Giorgio Marsan and Umberta Nasi, which included the work Study Of A Fuchsia; And Study Of An Alwoodi Pink by Maxwell Ashby Armfield. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,208.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maxwell Ashby Armfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madison Square Park, New York in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 151,362.87).
