Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Circe, Illustration To 'The Life And Death Of Jason', By William Morris by Maxwell Ashby Armfield was sold in the An Aesthetic Odyssey: The Peter Rose and Albert Gallichan Collection auction at Christies in September 2021. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,490.54) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maxwell Ashby Armfield achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Madison Square Park, New York in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 151,362.87).
