In June 2010 Christies in London held the auction The Nicolette Wernick Collection British Watercolours and Paintings (1800-1950), which included the work 'Where the silence is more than all tunes, where sleep overflows from the heart' by Maxwell Ashby Armfield. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,721.28), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Maxwell Ashby Armfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Madison Square Park, New York in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 102,000.00 (€ 151,362.87).

Im Juni 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Nicolette Wernick Collection British Watercolours and Paintings (1800-1950) durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Where the silence is more than all tunes, where sleep overflows from the heart' von Maxwell Ashby Armfield zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.721,28) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maxwell Ashby Armfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Madison Square Park, New York im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.000,00 (€ 151.362,87).
