This artwork by Maxfield Parrish achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2019. In the American Art auction, the work Study for Scribner's Poster sold for USD 225,000.00 (€ 204,192.76) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maxfield Parrish achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hilltop in November last year with an auction result of USD 6,660,000.00 (€ 6,451,612.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maxfield Parrish erzielte im November 2019 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Art wurde die Arbeit Study for Scribner's Poster für USD 225.000,00 (€ 204.192,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maxfield Parrish erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hilltop im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.660.000,00 (€ 6.451.612,90).
