Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Ivanhoe Playbill by Maxfield Parrish. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 112,500.00 (€ 99,355.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maxfield Parrish achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hilltop in November last year with an auction result of USD 6,660,000.00 (€ 6,451,612.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ivanhoe Playbill von Maxfield Parrish zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 99.355,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maxfield Parrish erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hilltop im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.660.000,00 (€ 6.451.612,90).
