Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dinard (Two Works) by Maurice Brazil Prendergast was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2020. The price achieved of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,042.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Brazil Prendergast achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Stony Beach in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 3,526,000.00 (€ 4,170,313.42).
