Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Saint Andrew - A Bozzetto by Mattia Preti was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2015. The price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 22,066.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mattia Preti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work David Playing The Harp Before Saul in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,169,000.00 (€ 1,461,491.81).

Die Arbeit Saint Andrew - A Bozzetto von Mattia Preti kam im Dezember 2015 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 22.066,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mattia Preti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit David Playing The Harp Before Saul im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.169.000,00 (€ 1.461.491,81).
