In June 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Interior With A Gentleman Smoking A Pipe And An Old Woman At Her Spinning Wheel by Matthijs Naiveu. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,043.83), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Matthijs Naiveu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Elegante Gesellschaft in einem Interieur in November 2016 with an auction result of EUR 74,400.00.

Im Juni 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Interior With A Gentleman Smoking A Pipe And An Old Woman At Her Spinning Wheel von Matthijs Naiveu zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.043,83) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthijs Naiveu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Elegante Gesellschaft in einem Interieur im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 74.400,00.
