This artwork by Matthijs Maris achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2001. In the NINETEENTH CENTURY ART auction, the work The young bride sold for NLG 79,900.00 (€ 36,672.61) - well above the upper estimate of NLG 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Matthijs Maris have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The four mills in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 205,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Matthijs Maris erzielte im April 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion NINETEENTH CENTURY ART wurde die Arbeit The young bride für NLG 79.900,00 (€ 36.672,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von NLG 35.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matthijs Maris auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The four mills im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 205.000,00.
