Auction result well in line with expectations
The work De Oude Stadspoort Van Delft: The Old Citygate, Delft by Matthijs Maris was sold in the Old Masters& 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism. auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 8,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthijs Maris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The four mills in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 205,000.00.

Die Arbeit De Oude Stadspoort Van Delft: The Old Citygate, Delft von Matthijs Maris wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion Old Masters& 19th Century Art - including Dutch Impressionism. bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 8.750,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
