Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Extase by Matthijs Maris for EUR 286.80. This price was achieved in the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 450.00 – 700.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthijs Maris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The four mills in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 205,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Extase von Matthijs Maris für EUR 286,80 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS & DRAWINGS INCLUDING FLOWER PICTURES bei Christies in Amsterdam erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 450,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthijs Maris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The four mills im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 205.000,00.
