Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of a boy by Matthijs Maris was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2002. The price achieved of EUR 3,585.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthijs Maris achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The four mills in November 2010 with an auction result of EUR 205,000.00.

Die Arbeit Study of a boy von Matthijs Maris kam im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.585,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthijs Maris erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The four mills im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 205.000,00.
