A top price for Matthias Withoos - as previously expected
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work Landscape With Drugged Birds In The Flower And Underbrush Of The Wood by Matthias Withoos. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 151,200.00 (€ 123,995.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Landscape With Drugged Birds In The Flower And Underbrush Of The Wood is the most expensive artwork by Matthias Withoos that we have observed at auctions so far.
