Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Matthias Withoos could be acquired at Christies in New York in October this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam auction, the work A forest floor with various plants and flowers, a frog, a grasshopper and butterflies, before a tree and a classical vase with a satyr on a pedestal changed hands for EUR 7,560.00 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthias Withoos achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape With Drugged Birds In The Flower And Underbrush Of The Wood in May 2021 with an auction result of USD 151,200.00 (€ 123,995.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Matthias Withoos konnte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Made in Holland: Celebrating 50 Years of Christie’s Amsterdam wechselte die Arbeit A forest floor with various plants and flowers, a frog, a grasshopper and butterflies, before a tree and a classical vase with a satyr on a pedestal für EUR 7.560,00 den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthias Withoos erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Landscape With Drugged Birds In The Flower And Underbrush Of The Wood im Mai 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 123.995,41).
