Auction result well in line with expectations
The work King, Queen, Knave by Mary Potter was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 3,825.00 (€ 4,490.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Potter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Evening II in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 31,600.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit King, Queen, Knave von Mary Potter wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.825,00 (€ 4.490,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Potter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Evening II im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 31.600,84).
