Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Bonhams in London held the auction Blazing a TrailModern British Women, which included the work Opposition by Mary Martin. The price achieved of GBP 38,100.00 (€ 43,361.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Martin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rotation 3, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 91,647.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women durch, in der auch die Arbeit Opposition von Mary Martin zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 38.100,00 (€ 43.361,48) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Martin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rotation 3 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 91.647,53) versteigert wurde.
