Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mary Gow could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Victorian & Edwardian Art auction, the work Playing With Her Dolls; Sisters changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,085.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Gow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Harmony in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,155.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mary Gow konnte im November 2011 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Victorian & Edwardian Art wechselte die Arbeit Playing With Her Dolls; Sisters für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.085,89) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Gow auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Harmony im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.400,00 (€ 21.155,42).
