This artwork by Martin Stainforth achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Sydney in November 2007. In the Important Australian Art auction, the work British Carbine sold for AUD 30,000.00 (€ 18,071.90) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 12,000.00. This high result makes British Carbine the most expensive artwork by Martin Stainforth that we have observed at auctions so far.
