The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,880.00 (€ 3,033.57), 57% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Martin Stainforth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work British Carbine in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 30,000.00 (€ 18,071.90).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Stainforth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit British Carbine im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 30.000,00 (€ 18.071,90).
