Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British eurythmic by Martin Stainforth was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 20,400.00 (€ 11,908.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Martin Stainforth have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2007 the work British Carbine was auctioned for AUD 30,000.00 (€ 18,071.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit British eurythmic von Martin Stainforth wurde im August 2008 in der Auktion Important Australian Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 20.400,00 (€ 11.908,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Martin Stainforth konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2007 die Arbeit British Carbine für AUD 30.000,00 (€ 18.071,90) versteigert.
