This artwork by Martin Puryear achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work without title sold for USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,916.04) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Puryear achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,805,000.00 (€ 1,323,313.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martin Puryear erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.916,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Puryear erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.805.000,00 (€ 1.323.313,78).
