Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Two Hummingbirds At A Nest by Martin Johnson Heade. The price achieved of USD 552,500.00 (€ 522,310.46) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Johnson Heade achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Great Florida Sunset in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,850,000.00 (€ 5,538,723.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Hummingbirds At A Nest von Martin Johnson Heade zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 552.500,00 (€ 522.310,46) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Johnson Heade erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Great Florida Sunset im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.850.000,00 (€ 5.538.723,73).
