Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Marlow Moss achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2020. In the Rembrandt to Richter auction, the work White, Black And Red sold for GBP 237,500.00 (€ 264,913.16) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 100,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Marlow Moss; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot White and Black sold at auction in October last year with the realized price of GBP 378,000.00 (€ 440,365.81).
