This artwork by Marlow Moss achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2016. In the Modern & Post-War British Art auction, the work Composition Yellow, Blue, Black, Red And White sold for GBP 150,000.00 (€ 176,985.25) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marlow Moss - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work White and Black, which sold at auction in October last year for GBP 378,000.00 (€ 440,365.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marlow Moss erzielte im November 2016 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern & Post-War British Art wurde die Arbeit Composition Yellow, Blue, Black, Red And White für GBP 150.000,00 (€ 176.985,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Marlow Moss mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit White and Black beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für GBP 378.000,00 (€ 440.365,81) versteigert wurde.
