In September 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Made in Britain, which included the work A Real Work Of Art by Mark Wallinger. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,949.34), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Wallinger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work (I) The Word In The Desert I (Ii) The Word In The Desert Ii (Iii) The Word In The Desert Iii (Iv) The Word In The Desert Iv (V) The Word In The Desert V in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 48,500.00 (€ 69,649.19).

Im September 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Made in Britain durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Real Work Of Art von Mark Wallinger zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.949,34) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Wallinger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit (I) The Word In The Desert I (Ii) The Word In The Desert Ii (Iii) The Word In The Desert Iii (Iv) The Word In The Desert Iv (V) The Word In The Desert V im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 48.500,00 (€ 69.649,19).
