Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mark Wallinger could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Seeing is Believing changed hands for GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,550.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Wallinger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work (I) The Word In The Desert I (Ii) The Word In The Desert Ii (Iii) The Word In The Desert Iii (Iv) The Word In The Desert Iv (V) The Word In The Desert V in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 48,500.00 (€ 69,649.19).
