Auction result well in line with expectations
In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work John F. Kennedy with Jackie and Caroline, Hyannis Port, Massachusetts by Mark Shaw. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,048.00 (€ 1,937.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Shaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Audrey Hepburn for Life Magazine during filming of the 1954 Paramount production Sabrina, Los Angeles, 1953 in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 63,816.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit John F. Kennedy with Jackie and Caroline, Hyannis Port, Massachusetts von Mark Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.048,00 (€ 1.937,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Shaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Audrey Hepburn for Life Magazine during filming of the 1954 Paramount production Sabrina, Los Angeles, 1953 im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 63.816,35).
