Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Daisy by Mark Ryden was auctioned at Phillips in London in March 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,916.33). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Ryden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Queen Bee in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 714,000.00 (€ 549,738.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Daisy von Mark Ryden im März 2017 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.916,33) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Ryden erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Queen Bee im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 714.000,00 (€ 549.738,22).
