Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Untitled (double self portrait in drag) by Mark Morrisroe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 10,160.00 (€ 9,202.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Mark Morrisroe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, NYC (Jonathan and Stafanelli) in October last year with an auction result of USD 40,320.00 (€ 40,587.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (double self portrait in drag) von Mark Morrisroe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 10.160,00 (€ 9.202,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mark Morrisroe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, NYC (Jonathan and Stafanelli) im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 40.587,88).
