Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pre-Nympho Pia, Young Pia Howard (Nude in Bathtub) by Mark Morrisroe was auctioned at Phillips in 17 - in July this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,810.00 (€ 3,457.35). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Morrisroe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, NYC (Jonathan and Stafanelli) in October last year with an auction result of USD 40,320.00 (€ 40,587.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pre-Nympho Pia, Young Pia Howard (Nude in Bathtub) von Mark Morrisroe im Juli diesen Jahres bei Phillips in 17 - versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.810,00 (€ 3.457,35) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Morrisroe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, NYC (Jonathan and Stafanelli) im Oktober letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.320,00 (€ 40.587,88).
