In November this year Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work John Stefanelli in the Bath by Mark Morrisroe. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,795.00 (€ 12,509.06), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Morrisroe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled, NYC (Jonathan and Stafanelli), which sold at auction in October last year for USD 40,320.00 (€ 40,587.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit John Stefanelli in the Bath von Mark Morrisroe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.795,00 (€ 12.509,06) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Morrisroe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled, NYC (Jonathan and Stafanelli) beobachtet, die im Oktober letzten Jahres für USD 40.320,00 (€ 40.587,88) versteigert wurde.
