Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mark Kostabi could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Pegasus Rising changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 1,686.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Kostabi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Accumulation in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 28,800.00 (€ 21,301.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mark Kostabi konnte im April 2011 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Pegasus Rising für USD 2.500,00 (€ 1.686,80) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mark Kostabi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Accumulation im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.800,00 (€ 21.301,78).
