Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ascensione veneta by Mark Kostabi was auctioned at Il Ponte in April 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 7,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 6,300.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mark Kostabi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Accumulation, which sold at auction in June 2007 for USD 28,800.00 (€ 21,301.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ascensione veneta von Mark Kostabi im April 2012 bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 7.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 6.300,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mark Kostabi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Accumulation beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für USD 28.800,00 (€ 21.301,78) versteigert wurde.
