Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Post Office, Aspen, Colorado, 1941 by Marion Post Wolcott. The price achieved of USD 1,800.00 (€ 1,509.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marion Post Wolcott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vegetable pickers, migrants, waiting after work to be paid, near Homestead, Florida, Feb 1939 in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 21,420.00 (€ 18,542.24).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Post Office, Aspen, Colorado, 1941 von Marion Post Wolcott zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.800,00 (€ 1.509,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marion Post Wolcott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vegetable pickers, migrants, waiting after work to be paid, near Homestead, Florida, Feb 1939 im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.420,00 (€ 18.542,24).
