Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Leggere nelle nuvole by Mario Merz was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in April 2021. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,493.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mario Merz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Piccolo caimano in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,346,297.09).

Die Arbeit Leggere nelle nuvole von Mario Merz wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.493,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mario Merz erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Piccolo caimano im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.346.297,09).
