Auction result well in line with expectations
The work I have no hands to caress my face, 1958 by Mario Giacomelli was auctioned at Christies in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,410.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mario Giacomelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Selected Images, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,279.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit I have no hands to caress my face, 1958 von Mario Giacomelli kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.410,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Mario Giacomelli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Selected Images beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.279,51) versteigert wurde.
